Country Hills School Council is looking for members for the 2025-2026 school year. Please see the information below about School Council.

Why get involved in School Council?

When parents get involved in their child’s education it results in better attendance, more confidence, and increases their achievement. School Council is a great way to contribute back to the school community and connect with the learning environment that your child experiences every day. It will help you to develop a stronger relationship with your child, and get to know other parents, and school staff.

What is School Council?

School Council is a committed group of parents, guardians and caregivers who meet on a monthly basis with Country Hills administration and staff to support the school through fundraising, special events, and by acting as an advisory group. It is run by an executive, made up of a Chair, Vice Chair (or Co-chair), Treasurer, and Secretary, and is supported by a committed membership. You are also always welcome to join in as observers at any Council meeting.

How do I join School Council?

Any parent, guardian or caregiver of a Country Hills student can attend any School Council meeting. Through these meetings you may find other ways to get involved. If you would like to volunteer for an elected position, nomination can be made by reaching out to coh@wrdsb.ca Elections and confirmation of Council members will take place at the September meeting. Elected members are expected to regularly attend School Council meetings and actively support Council initiatives during the school year. By attending the first meeting you are able to be a voting member of Council.
