On Monday, April 8, all Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) Elementary and Secondary Teachers and Education Workers will be present at their worksites and will engage in school learning and improvement planning. This work will take place alongside supporting student learning asynchronously. This focus aligns with priorities outlined:

Time will be provided for elementary and secondary teachers to focus on:

Achievement

  • Literacy and Numeracy instruction practices, assessment and evaluation
  • Prepare for students writing upcoming Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) assessments

Pathways and Transitions

  • Engage in work being done to support:
    • De-streaming/Single Streaming teaching practices, assessment and evaluation
    • Review and engage with credit accumulation data
  • Prepare for upcoming transition meetings (Grade 6 to 7 and Grade 8 to 9) and school visits

WRDSB Workforce Census

  • Provide time to complete the 2024 Workforce Census
